Located on the C14 in Namibia, about an hour after passing through Solitaire, are two colorful signs marking the crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn. This major circle of latitude is the southernmost site where the sun can shine from directly overhead. The Tropic of Capricorn passes through a number of countries including Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia and Paraguay. Those driving through the Namibian desert often throw their own spin onto the experience by placing a sticker or signature on one of the signs.
