This bridge is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina – it is a true masterpiece of Ottoman architecture, spanning 180 meters over the Drina river, the natural border between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.
What makes Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge special is the platform in the middle of the bridge that was used as a meeting point by citizens for centuries.
"The bridge over the Drina" by nobel price winner Ivo Andrić is probably what made the bridge most famous.
