The Škocjan Caves is a hidden gem nestled in Slovenia. It is a great alternative to the famous Postojna Caves.

To clear up the confusion that people normally have, there are two things called Škocjan:

• The main cave system. To visit it, you need to pay an entrance fee and it is a protected area.

• A few hiking paths around the area through which you can visit a few caves and tunnels. This hiking area is a great place to explore and provides some really unique views, but it is not the cave itself.
