Gimmelwald is a picturesque Alpine village located in the Bernese Oberland. It is known for its exceptional townscape situated on an elevation of 1363m and only accessible by foot or cable car. Due to its remote location and lack of roads, Gimmelwald is a traffic-free paradise with a unique charm. The main sources of income for the locals are farming and tourism – you can stay in one of the village's small hotels, former pensions, bed & breakfasts, or experience snow sports in winter. A popular activity amongst tourists is exploring the 2.2 km long via ferrata connecting Gimmelwald to Mürren, offering an incredible mountain view that cannot be seen elsewhere.
