Impressive 60m high waterfall "Cascata del Salto" in Maggia which shoots broadly into the depth and forms a large pool which invites you to swim. It's a moderately challenging hike from Maggia - 3.4km, with 199m elevation gain (circular, 1h17min to complete in average). The trail starts at a large parking lot in Maggia and leads through the middle of the forest. After going to the Cascata del Salto, the trail passes the chapel of Santa Maria della Pioda and comes back to the starting point. Only two stops further from Maggia is Giumaglio, which also has a beautiful, somewhat hidden waterfall and a large pool where with enough water - it is wonderful to swim.
