The Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha Temple) on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand is a stunning and fascinating temple. Visitors to the Wat are struck by its majestic and dazzling beauty; the entire complex is painted in gold and bedecked with elaborate, jewel-colored mirrored tiles. At the center of this beautiful space sits a 12-meter golden Buddha in the Mara position, signifying enlightenment, purity, and serenity. In the mornings, tourists can witness Buddhist monks chanting prayers and locals providing offerings of food, incense, and flowers. It's a unique spot where one can savor both the gorgeous views over the surrounding aquamarine waters and pick up souvenirs from the stalls at the base of the temple.
