I don't recommend doing the shark diving tours in Gansbaai. Only when we paid, and when they started to brief us before going on the boat, they told us that there are no more great white sharks in the gansbaai area. They saw only 1 in 4 months !!! 2 orcas live in the area for 5 years and kill great white sharks. Once a shark is killed, the others can smell it from kilometers away and don't come in the area anymore. I think this is very misleading as ALL their advertising highlight the fact that there's a big change to see great white sharks, while they know exactly from the beginning that there's basically zero chance...

If you still want to have a change to see a great white shark, either try a smaller boat that can go directly in Shark Alley near Dyer Island. Only certain smaller boats can go there. Or try Mossel bay or Plettenberg bay.
