Dappat Se Gat is a hidden gem found along the Clarence Drive of the Overstrand region in Cape Town. It is home to a series of jagged caves that have been given its name due to the legendary Dappat, a supposedly notorious livestock thief who used the caves as his hideout in the olden days. Even now, anyone who makes the trek down to the beach can still spot smoke coming out from these same caves. The beach itself has some of the softest white sand and provides an ideal spot for surfing, although rip currents here can be dangerously strong. Thus, Dappat's legacy lives on at this spectacular piece of coastline.
