Birds of Eden is a must-see aviary experience located in Kurland village, just outside Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape of South Africa. This free flight bird sanctuary is home to over 3000 birds and 200 species native to the area. Built over 2.3 hectares of indigenous forest, visitors can explore the park via 1.2 kilometres of walkways which wind through the mesh dome enclosure that rises up to 55 metres above ground level. Guests can take self-guided tours or opt for a guided tour that will provide more insight into the shelters inhabitants and the region’s diverse flora and fauna. Birds of Eden is one of the most popular birdwatching destinations in the area and it promises an unforgettable aviary experience for all who visit.
