Always wondered what it would feel like to sleep an ice hotel? Or to have dinner on chairs and tables made of ice? During wintertime you can experience all of this in the yearly build SnowVillage in Kittilä, close to Ylläs en Äkäslompolo.

Every year the snow village is build within a different theme in mind and all the rooms are made of snow, filled with icy furniture and a cool cocktail bar to warm up.

To be honest, after already having slept in an ice iglo in Austria before (which was extremely cold), It didn't appeal to me to experience this again in Finland. However, you don't have to book an overnight stay to see the Snow Village and get a sneak peak into all the rooms.

The walk through the Snow Village was a lot of fun and the details of everything was amazing! We also went here for a luxurious dinner with our warm jackets on. The food was incredible and beautifully presented. I highly recommend making a reservation year if you want to try some local food at the most unique spot possible! The ambience was extraordinary, which made it a memorable experience above the Polar Circle.

Please note that a reservation at the restaurant does not include the entrance tickets to see the rest of the Snow Village. You need to buy a separate ticket for this.
