Hike
Hike
1-2h
You will often see me on this hike as it is one of my absolute favourites. This is a short but dramatic hike, with amazing views, starting with the impressive Start Point Lighthouse at one end, and then revealing Great Mattiscombe Sands at the other before circling back to the car park.
The route will be challenging for some, with steep sections and uneven rocky parts, but I would highly recommend it. Between the lighthouse and the beach, is an area well known for seal spotting. The best time to see them is at low tide and on a calm day.
If you’re doing this walk in season, then you will need to bring some cash to with you for parking (£4) or complete a bank transfer there and then. In off season there is no charge.
