Salcombe has to be one of the most beautiful spots in Devon, and in my opinion, it’s a must visit. On a gorgeous sunny day, it feels like you’re in the Mediterranean with its golden sandy beaches and crystal clear water.
It has a bustling harbour and vibrant boating community with the regatta and the sailing club. There are a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to choose from, but the likelihood is that you’ll spend the majority of your day strolling along the coast path, or taking the ferry across to relax on the East Portlemouth Beaches.
In the winter, the ferry runs from Whitestrand from 9am to 5pm, every half an hour. In the summer, it runs continuously from The Ferry Inn.
