1 hour 20 mins to a swimming hole with Mt Taranaki in the background

Wilkies Pools, located in Taranaki, New Zealand is a wild swimming spot that is worth experiencing. This gorgeous destination features a “gnarled and mossy goblin forest' that leads to crystal clear plunge pools that are perfect for swimming. The track to get to the pool has an easy difficulty level and can either be taken as a circuit or as a return route. The pools themselves have up to five accessible spots and two of the best having beautiful views of Mount Taranaki. A visit here is definitely something not to miss out on when visiting the area, the newfound sense of wilderness will make it a unique and memorable experience.
