Excellent little walk to the summit of Mt Paku with views of Tairua and Pauanui.
Further information: Mt Paku, located in the town of Tairua in New Zealand, is a breathtakingly beautiful volcanic peak that rises up between the southern end of Tairua Beach and the Tairua harbour mouth. It's an easily accessible climb that rewards visitors with spectacular views of scenery including Tairua and Paaunui, the Coromandel Ranges, the Tairua River, and various offshore islands such as the Aldermen Islands, Mercury Islands, Slipper and Shoe Islands. The mountain can be scaled by people of most fitness levels, ages, and abilities thanks to its wide variety of informative sign boards and specially constructed hand rails and steps along the route. On the way to the summit, hikers can also admire lush native trees, moss-covered rocks and birdsong from quails, bellbirds and tuis. At the top, visitors are rewarded with truly unforgettable views!
