ChristChurch Cathedral, also known as Christ Church Cathedral, is an Anglican cathedral located in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was built between 1864 and 1904 and has a Gothic Revival style of architecture. The cathedral has been repeatedly damaged by earthquakes, with the most significant damage occurring in the February 2011 earthquake, which destroyed the spire and severely damaged the rest of the building. There have been debates about whether to demolish the cathedral or reinstate it, but no further demolition has occurred since 2012. Currently, the cathedral community worships at the Cardboard Cathedral.
