Russell is a charming and picturesque seaside town located in the Bay of Islands, Northland. I recommend visiting for dinner as Russell faces sunset!
There are many pretty historic buildings to admire and an old twisted tree next to the iconic Duke of Marlborough Pub.
You can get to Russell by taking the ferry from Paihia wharf. It takes about 15 minutes and costs $17 return. There is also a car ferry at Opua if you'd like to take your vehicle and explore a bit further.
