Locals call this location, Fanny Bridge. The name is self evident once you are there and see all the onlookers leaning over the railing to catch a glimpse at the GIGANTIC rainbow trout below the bridge. Local Tip: bring some old bread to feed the trout. It's pretty exciting to see these 25+ inch fish rise up to snatch the bread as it hits the water.

Lake Tahoe Dam is a hidden gem in Placer County, California. It serves as the main storage facility for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's Newlands Project and stands 18.2 ft high and 109 ft long, with a spillway that can release up to 2,100 cubic feet per second! The dam was first built in 1870 by Mark Hopkins and Leland Stanford, but was replaced in 1913 with a concrete and buttress structure by the federal government. The local landmark now provides water to 55,000 acres of cropland in western Nevada and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places - making it an attraction well worth checking out!
