Martis Valley Trail (also known as Tompins Trail) is an easy access location if you are looking to enjoy the outdoors near Truckee, California. This easy 4.7 mile point-to-point trail gives hikers, bikers and runners an opportunity to explore a beautiful landscape packed with interesting features. Visiting the trail at almost any time of year will surely provide a memorable experience! The trail is mostly flat with some steeper sections, and it winds through areas with cultural history of the Washoe Tribe. It also includes forested and shaded parts, and has plenty of picturesque views along the way. With plenty of parking available at the Tompkins trail area in Martis Creek, just off Highway 267, there's no excuse not to explore this ever-changing trail!

Parts of the trail are paved for biking and others dirt trails path bout into the valley for an extended hike or run. Dogs are allowed.
