Kinbane Castle is one of my favourite coastal hidden gems that has got to be on your bucket list when exploring the causeway coastal route. You will find the castle ruins tucked away on the coastline between Ballycastle and Ballintoy. With surrounding cliffs and limestone headland, it truly is beautiful. Kinbane Castle also offers spectacular views of Rathlin Island and Dunagregor Iron Age Fort.

Things to know:

To reach Kinbane Castle, you’ll need to make your way down 140 steps. This is a steep descent and ascent, so it isn’t suitable for those with limited mobility. Please be careful after any rainfall, it can get very slippy.

☕️ I recommend ‘Brew with a view’ for a coffee and sweet treat on your roadtrip . This mobile coffee shop is conveniently located in Kinbane Carpark .

Top travel tip:

Carrick-a-rede rope bridge is located just a 10min drive from Kinbane Castle. I recommend checking this out after your visit here.
