Piazza del Duomo, Milano is the iconic city centre square of Milan, Italy. It is home to some of the most renowned landmarks in all of Italy, including beautiful historic buildings, monuments and monuments art galleries. The magnificent Milan Cathedral, known as the Duomo, anchors the piazza and creates a stunning backdrop that's hard to resist. Visitors to Piazza del Duomo can marvel at its long and fascinating history, it dates back over 700 years, as well as explore its lavish arcades, majestic triumphal arches and huge onion domes. Guided tours so travelers can learn the history of the piazza are also available. Shopping in the many exclusive stores and boutiques, eating in the restaurants, bars and cafes or relaxing on the piazza is an experience you won't go soon forget!
HOW TO GET THERE:
To get to Piazza Duomo, you can take the subway (red line M1 or yellow line M3) or a tram (line 15 to the Piazza Fontana stop, lines 2 and 14 to the Via Torino stop, lines 16, 24 and 27 to the Via Mazzini stop). Here you can download the metro map.
Once you arrive in the square you will find yourself in front of the Cathedral: its grandeur will leave you speechless, think that it is the third largest Catholic church in the world, surpassed only by the Basilica of San Pietro and the Cathedral of Seville.
