The Palatine Hill is a part of Rome that has been steeped in history, mythology and culture for centuries. Located at the centre of the seven legendary hills of Rome, it is home to some of the most significant archaeological finds in the city, such as the mythical palace of Evander and the remains of temples dedicated to the gods Apollo and Cybele. Not only does the Palatine Hill house the famous Flavian Palace, it is also the site where the mythical founding of Rome occurred, when Romulus and Remus were said to be protected by Lupa, a female she-wolf. To this day, the Palatine Hill is still a tourist attraction, where visitors can marvel at the ruins of imperial palaces, spectacular gardens and vast open air museums.
