Castelmuzio is a charming medieval town in Tuscany with intact Etruscan-Roman origins. Known as Castello by the locals, it boasts a fortified castle with tuff stone walls and a shortened tower. The town's history dates back to the 9th century and has passed through various ruling families before becoming part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Visitors can explore the central square with the Palazzo Fratini and the Museum of Sacred Art housed in the Brotherhood of the SS. Trinita building. Don't miss the Parish Church of Santo Stefano in Cennano nearby, built over an ancient Roman temple.

This place is so overlooked that even in high season, you'll be one of the only ones there.
