Message from Francesco Meola

Chiesa di Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza is a stunning example of Baroque architecture located in the heart of Rome. Built in 1642–1660 by the renowned architect Francesco Borromini, this impressive church brings a unique and mesmerizing design to the city.

It features a curved facade that merges perfectly with the nearby palace courtyard, as well as a remarkable corkscrew lantern dome surrounded by sculpted motifs. Inside the rotunda are distinct shapes such as a triangle with its three angles cut off, and

semi-circles between the lines. Yet despite the different shapes, there is a sense of harmony and balance throughout the building. It is truly an incredible sight to behold and a must-see landmark for any visitor to Rome!

Visiting this stunning church can be quite challenging, as it's not always opened. It's only opened on Sundays from 9 am to 11 am, but in July and August is closed. Schedule might change as well. It you manage to visit though, it will be worth it!
