Rjukan Falls, located in Tinn Municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway, is a majestic 104 metre tall waterfall on the Måna river. It is one of the first floodlighted waterfalls in history, generating electricity through its own power to light up the surrounding area. In 1905, the power plant Vemork harnessed the waterfall and river to generate hydro-electricity for a nearby Norsk Hydro factory. Today, the falls are a major tourist attraction, and with its scenic sights and roiling waters, it's a sight not easily forgotten.
