If you're ever in Witless Bay and looking for a rewarding hike that doesn't take all day, I highly recommend heading up to 'the Tolt.' It's easy to find; just park by the graveyard and follow the trailhead marked on Google Maps.

The hike itself is surprisingly quick, taking only about 10 minutes to reach the top, but don't let the short distance fool you. The payoff is absolutely worth it. Once you reach the summit, you're greeted with a stunning 360-degree viewpoint that captures the best of Witless Bay. It's particularly breathtaking if you time your hike for sunset—the colors and views are just incredible.

From this vantage point, you can see the ocean stretching out towards the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, a haven for puffins and a must-see for bird enthusiasts. On the other side, you'll watch the sun dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the forests and the community below.
