Located near the Deildartunguhver (Europe’s most powerful hot spring), Krauma Spa is a modern and luxurious facility that features a range of hot pools, saunas, and relaxation areas. The spa is fed by natural hot springs, providing you with a truly authentic Icelandic spa experience.

One of the main attractions of Krauma Spa is the range of hot pools on offer. These pools are maintained at different temperatures, ranging from a warm 36°C (96.8°F) to a toasty 41°C (105.8°F), providing visitors with a range of options to suit their individual preferences. The pools are also filled with fresh, clean, and untreated water straight from the hot springs, which is known for its therapeutic benefits. If you’re a fan of cold pools, they have one of those too.

In addition to the hot pools, Krauma Spa also features a range of saunas, including a traditional Finnish sauna and a steam bath. These saunas are perfect for detoxifying the body and promoting relaxation and overall wellbeing.

The spa's location is also a highlight, as it is situated in a stunning natural landscape surrounded by mountains and hot springs. It’s lovely to take in the gorgeous views while soaking in the hot pools or relaxing in the saunas.

One of my favorite rooms is the one with the fire pit. You can relax in one of the lounge chairs while feeling the warmth of the fire and listening to the soothing sounds of the crackling wood.

Aside from the spa facilities, Krauma Spa also has a restaurant on site that serves a range of delicious Icelandic cuisine made from local ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, especially the vegan options! The restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or a drink after a day of relaxation in the hot pools.
