Fort Augustus is a village located on the south-western end of Loch Ness in Scotland's Highlands. With its population of 620, and its economy heavily reliant on tourism, Fort Augustus offers a variety of activities for visitors and locals alike. Visitors can observe the stunning locks and swing bridge of the Caledonian Canal, take a guided tour of the Jacobite fort built in 1715, or explore Fort Augustus Abbey for a glimpse into history. Thanks to its low-lying topography and valley location, Fort Augustus also provides breathtaking views, year-round sunshine, and occasional record-breaking temperatures. It's no wonder why so many people visit this small village every year!
