Inverness is a city in the Highlands of Scotland and holds a unique place in Scottish history. First settled over 6000 years ago, it has grown to become the administrative centre for The Highland Council as well as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom. It is situated near two important battle sites; the 11th-century battle of Blàr nam Fèinne against Norway and the 18th century Battle of Culloden which both took place nearby. Inverness is full of historical promise and today offers numerous cultural events, street art, extraordinary architecture, interesting locals, and a vibrant nightlife. All this provides visitors with an exciting destination that blends contemporary vibes with a timeless past.
