The Trevi Fountain is a beautiful historic site located in the Trevi district of Rome, Italy. It was designed and completed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and Giuseppe Pannini in 1762 and has become one of the largest and most famous fountains in the world. Standing at 26.3 meters high and surrounded by a backdrop of the Palazzo Poli, it includes sculptures of mythical Oceanus, Abundance, and Salubrity that spill water from their urns. The fountain name originates from the Latin word meaning three roads, as it marks the junction of three main roads. Coins are thrown into the fountain every day, famously so in the 1954 classic 'Three Coins in the Fountain' and more recently in The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003). It has been featured in many films and been a popular destination since its construction over two centuries ago.
