My favorite restaurant along the Golden Circle route is Friðheimar. When you walk in all of your senses are activated. The warmth of the greenhouse greets you like a cozy hug, the smell of the tomatoes and flowers growing all around you is delightful, the burst of colors is a feast for your eyes, the buzzing of the few bumblebees flying around as they pollinate the plants is relaxing, and taste of the food is delicious. It’s not just a restaurant and greenhouse, it’s an experience!

Everything on the menu has tomatoes in it. The all you can eat tomato soup and bread is a great option, if you are not sure of what you want to eat.

I love that tomatoes are grown here year-round using state of the art technology and environmentally friendly methods. I often buy the piccolo tomatoes they grow in the local food markets in Iceland.
