This beautiful and secluded beach offers you the opportunity to see seals in West Iceland!
Located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Ytri Tunga Beach is a peaceful and tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Iceland's more popular tourist destinations. The beach is a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, sea, and sky.
One of the main attractions of Ytri Tunga Beach is the chance to see seals in their natural habitat. The beach is a popular spot for seals to come ashore and bask in the sun, making it an ideal location for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. You can observe these fascinating animals from a safe distance and learn more about their behavior and habits.
Pro-tip: The best chance of seeing the seals on the beach are during low tide between May and July. Please keep your voice low to avoid frightening the animals and stay at least 50 meters (164 feet) from the seals.
