Right behind the Icelandic Parliament building is a gorgeous public garden hiding in plain sight.

The garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Reykjavik, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city streets. Visitors can enjoy the calm surroundings, relax on one of the benches, and enjoy the beautiful landscaping, including colorful flower beds, lush greenery, and carefully manicured lawns. The garden is particularly stunning in the summer months when the flowers are in full bloom.

Fun fact - the garden has a rich history, dating back to the 19th century when it was used as a vegetable garden for the Icelandic Parliament.

If facing the parliament building, walk to the lefthand side toward Domkirkja (the cathedral) and turn to the right of the building. As you walk a few feet, you will see the entrance to the garden.
