Hot Spring
Hot Spring

All ages
Take an adventurous hike in the gorgeous Reykjadalur geothermal valley located in the small town of Hveragerði in south Iceland. Depending on the weather conditions, it takes about 50-minutes to one hour to reach the hot springs.
While I love how natural the springs are, I always bring water shoes with me to protect my feet from the rocks in the river. Due to the hot water streaming into the river at different rates, you might find that the temperature of the water can vary from lukewarm to extremely hot in some places. Be cautious when sitting next to a hot spot because it can get boiling hot.
If hiking during winter, make sure to bring some micro-spikes.
The dressing/undressing area is not covered and is basically some dividers, so be prepared for getting dressed in all types of weather conditions. Personally, I feel like it makes the whole experience even more fun.
