During my first trip to the Sky Lagoon, I was blown away. The facilities are gorgeous, and their 7 ritual steps are such a fun way to explore the whole place. Just a 15-minute drive from Reykjavik is a relatively new world-class spa.
You can soak in the geothermal waters while taking in stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. My favorite part is the sauna, which is the largest in Iceland! It has clear glass that gives you an unobstructed view of the ocean while you relax in the heat. If you get there during sunset, the golden colors on the water are magical.
Pro-tip – if you want to wash up in a private shower, I recommend getting the Sky Pass
Fun fact – the turf house behind the cold pool is a replica of Snorri Sturluson turf house tunnel and pool. Snorri was a wealthy chieftain, historian, politician, and poet in Iceland in the 1200s. The actual pool and house can be found in Reykholt in West Iceland.
