The famous Blue Lagoon is a popular stop for a good reason. Its warm mineral-rich crystal blue water and tranquil location nestled among lava rocks make it the perfect place to relax and replenish.
One of my favorite activities is the in-water massage. That and the different face masks feel like the ultimate self-care retreat.
Due to its popularity, the Blue Lagoon gets booked up fast. Make sure you secure your reservation ahead of time, especially if you plan to visit during the summer.
Pro-tip: Make sure to put conditioner on your hair before you get in the water if you plan to dunk your head under the mineral-rich water. The silica in the water makes hair very stiff but conditioner helps to protect your hair from getting too dry. An alternative is to put your hair up so it doesn't touch the water at all. I do the latter option because I find that I need to condition my hair multiple times if I get the minerals from the water on it.
If you get the "premium" pass, it gives you a reservation at the Lava restaurant. The food is delicious. If you book far enough in advance, request a table next to the window.
