I remember walking into this museum and being in awe! Whales of Iceland is home to a unique collection of life-sized whale models, including blue whales, humpback whales, and orcas. You can see these magnificent creatures up close and learn about their biology, behavior, and conservation.
The museum also features interactive exhibits that allow you to learn more about whales and their habitats. You can even touch whale bones, listen to whale sounds, and participate in other hands-on activities.
This is a great destination for anyone interested in marine biology and conservation. It offers a comprehensive look at Iceland's marine life and provides valuable insights into the country's efforts to protect its natural resources. Plus, there are fun areas for kids to play.
While this does not substitute for a whale watching tour on a boat, it does provide a view of whales that you won’t get on a tour.
Pro-tip – I highly recommend doing the audio guide because it is full of great information.
