I couldn’t believe that there was a rock formation in Iceland that looked like an elephant until I saw it for myself!

Elephant Rock is a unique rock formation on Heimaey Island that looks like an elephant with its trunk dipping into the ocean. The natural rock sculpture is a result of volcanic activity and erosion over thousands of years, and it's a remarkable example of Iceland's geology.

The rock is located on the southern coast of Heimaey Island, and visitors can see it against a backdrop of rugged cliffs and the open ocean. The scenery is spectacular and is one of the most picturesque locations in Iceland.

You can park your car and take a leisurely walk to the rock formation on the walking path along the shore. A bonus is that the area around Elephant Rock is a great place to see wildlife, including puffins and other seabirds.

Photographers love this rock because it is it is in such a gorgeous area. Plus, who would think that they would see an elephant in Iceland?!
