The Cave People are a community of Icelandic locals who have recreated a cave dwelling to showcase the way of life of some Icelanders that lived in caves less than 100 years ago. While no one knows when the caves where created, some have suggested the caves were made by Irish monks before Norse settlers started coming to Iceland in the 900s.
The cave is in the picturesque town of Laugarvatn, which is situated in the heart of Iceland's stunning Golden Circle.
Visitors to the Cave People can take a guided tour of the cave dwelling and learn about the lives of these interesting people that decided to reside there. The tour provides a fascinating insight into the daily lives of the cave people who lived there not too long ago with their animals. Beyond its cultural and historical significance, the Cave People offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in Iceland's stunning natural landscapes. Laugarvatn is surrounded by beautiful mountains, hot springs, and scenic hiking trails, making it the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
