The Beehive Circuit is a popular and epic hike in Banff National Park. It offers stunning views of Lake Louise, towering peaks, and beautiful alpine scenery. The circuit includes two main hikes: the Little Beehive and the Big Beehive. Starting from Lake Louise, hikers can choose to go to Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes first before tackling the Beehives. The Little Beehive offers a shorter detour with fantastic views, while the Big Beehive takes you to a ridge with expansive vistas.
Both hikes are pretty difficult, but Little Beehive is doable and I would say closer to moderate. In my opinion, the view from Little Beehive is better than the Big Beehive.
Little Beehive is about 6 miles (9.6km) and would take you about 3.5 hours roundtrip.
Hiking to Big Beehive adds another mile (1.6km).
I would recommend wearing hiking boots and taking bug spray with you just in case.
