Canmore is a laid-back mountain town just outside the gates of Banff National Park. With its stunning setting and surrounded by majestic mountains like the Three Sisters, it's a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy the great outdoors. Canmore used to be a coal-mining town, but after the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, people discovered its charm and it has been growing ever since. The town has a nice downtown area with modern amenities, great restaurants, and even a couple of breweries. Plus, it's a gateway to Kananaskis Country, a hidden gem with fewer crowds and plenty of wilderness to explore. So if you're looking for a more relaxed vibe and easy access to both Banff and Kananaskis, Canmore is the place to be.
