Hamurana Springs is one of Rotorua's best-kept secrets, located just 15 minutes from the city centre. The natural spring waters are filled with hues of green, blue and turquoise, emerging from 15 metres of volcanic rock deep from the surrounding plateau. Here you can take a scenic loop track in the Californian Redwood and native forest grove, explore the picturesque Hamurana Stream on a stand-up paddle board or catch a glimpse of some of the native birds such as black teal, scaup, herons and ducks. In summer the water remains at a constant 10 degrees celsius, providing the perfect spot to get up close and personal with some of its huge rainbow trout.
