Message from Johan Haugsrud

The Lyngentrappa hike is an amazing experience offering visitors spectacular views of the Lyngen Alps, Kjosen, Rottenvikvannet and the Lyngenfjord. With a length of 5.2km, it takes around 4-5 hours to complete the hike with its 1200 steps, but the challenge is well rewarded with breathtaking sights! The Lyngentrappa hike starts in the centre of Lyngseidet after a short drive up Giæverlia before beginning the 856 continuous steps. From there you can enjoy a wonderful path along Eidnasen that will take you to Verdens Ende peak (468m above sea level). From the top of the peak, you can gaze over the wondrous landscape that Northern Norway has to offer. For safety reasons, it's neither recommended nor allowed to hike the Lyngentrappa when there's still snow and ice on the trail. Don't forget to keep your dog on a leash during the 1st April – 15th October; just for the sake of the reindeer and sheep that live in the area.
