Offering the province's only rafting experience, Rafting Newfoundland lives up to its reputation with two fantastic tours: the family-friendly Badger Chute and the thrill-packed Canyon Run.
I chose the Canyon Run which started with a safety briefing and a 15-foot jump into the warm waters of the Exploits River, the adventure kicks off with a splash—literally. The guides here are all about maximizing the fun. They let us "play" in the rapids, revisiting the waves and even the "toilet bowl," where the raft fills with water.
Each rapid is a rush, but there’s always a stretch of calm water afterward, ensuring a safe experience. The scenery is stunning, winding through a canyon lined with rugged cliffs.
The energy of the guides is infectious, and they’re happy to dial up the adventure to your liking, even flipping the raft if you’re up for it. After the final rapid, a gentle float back is the perfect cool-down.
