bericht van Francesco Meola

Manarola is one of the five picturesque towns of the Cinque Terre, located on the Ligurian Sea in Italy. Filled with colorful houses that appear to cascade down to its small harbor, this town has been attracting tourists for centuries. Initially built by the Romans and dating back as far as the 1300s, Manarola offers visitors a chance to experience life at a slower pace. Soak up the stunning scenery, explore the narrow cobblestone streets, or enjoy a leisurely meal at a local restaurant with views of the sea. Leisure activities include swimming, snorkeling, catching a ferry to other towns, and exploring the Via Dell'Amore (The Way of Love) footpath. During Christmas time, don't miss the world's largest nativity scene, made from recycled materials. Enjoy local eats like anchovies, pesto, focaccia, and Sciacchetrà wine while staying in B&B, hotel, or Airbnb-type accommodations. Manarola can be accessed by train, boat, or car and is sure to make your trip to the Cinque Terre an unforgettable one.
