Message from Francesco Meola

The Temple of Hadrian was an ancient Roman structure dedicated to the deified emperor Hadrian in 145 CE by his adoptive son and successor Antoninus Pius. Located in the Campus Martius within Augustan Rome the temple was built on a high podium of Proconnesian marble with an opulent Corinthian order colonnade.

What remains of the Temple of Hadrian is incorporated into subsequent buildings in the Piazza di Pietra, helping us recreate the building dynamics and significance of this Imperial Roman monument.
