Message from Ashley Elliott

Doubtful Sound, known as Patea in Māori, is one of the most majestic and awe-inspiring landscapes in New Zealand, with thousands of visitors making the journey to explore each year. Boasting a length of 40 kilometres stretching out from its entrance to the Tasman Sea, Doubtful Sound Patea is the deepest of New Zealand's fiords, with its immense size leaving all who visit feeling humbled by its powerful presence. Within this epic evergreen scenery, wildlife such as bottlenose dolphins, tawaki (Fiordland Crested Penguins) and kekeno (New Zealand Fur Seals) can also be found. The only way to experience Doubtful Sound Patea’s natural beauty is to take the remarkable tour starting from Manapouri, over the Wilmot Pass, before eventually arriving at Deep Cove for an incredible day or overnight boat cruise.
