Lake Dunstan is an incredible man-made recreation site situated in the South Island of New Zealand and is a popular spot for kiloers and fishermen alike. The lake was formed with the construction of the Clyde Dam, which filled the four controlled stages from April to May 1992, making the town of Cromwell relocate to various parts of the new lake's area. Visitors can enjoy a plethora of recreational activities ranging from water sports, such as boating and wakeboarding, to air sports like paramotoring. One major problem faced during construction of the dam were the geological issues found at Cairnmuir but only served to keep any aluminium smeltering projects away, which sparked some activism in the local community.
