Sardine Peak Lookout is a historic forest fire lookout tower in Tahoe National Forest, perched at 8,138 feet in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it offers stunning views of surrounding reservoirs and valleys. The cozy cab at the top has two twin beds, a propane stove for cooking, and basic amenities. Visitors need to bring their own bedding, water, and supplies. It's a rustic getaway for hiking, biking, and enjoying the great outdoors, but be prepared for a bumpy ride on the unimproved forest road to get there! 4x4 vehicle recommended!!
