The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto is like stepping into a green wonderland and is one of Kyoto's most photographed sites. It's a short but magical walk through towering bamboo stalks with sunlight peeking through the canopy, creating a serene atmosphere (depending on the crowds).

TIP - We found it unique but not worth all the hype given how popular and consequently crowded it has become... instead of going to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (which is super crowded and touristy), you can visit Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple Bamboo Forest for a similar experience with lesser crowds, however it is a bit further to walk so you can choose between the two based on how much time you have.
