Miradouro da Caldeira Seca offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, which includes a dramatic volcanic crater, lush green hills, and the characteristic dense vegetation of the island.
The "Caldeira Seca" itself is a volcanic crater that, unlike some of the other caldeiras on Flores, is typically dry ("seca" means "dry" in Portuguese), although it may hold water during certain seasons.
From Miradouro da Caldeira Seca, visitors can appreciate the island's unique topography, formed by ancient volcanic activity, and its rich biodiversity. The site is often visited by hikers and nature lovers who come to explore the network of trails that connect various craters, lakes, and viewpoints across Flores. The viewpoint is particularly breathtaking on clear days, when the colors of the landscape are most vibrant, and the view extends far into the distance, offering a true sense of the island's wild and untouched beauty.
